My name is Murray Agnew and I am the Sheriff for Limestone County. I have lived in Limestone County since I was 1st hired as a deputy in 1995. I have worked in all parts of Law Enforcement for both small and larger offices. I began my career as a jailer in Bell County and after attending the Central Texas Regional Police Academy I was a deputy in Milam County before coming to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office. In 1998, I began as a investigator with Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and was assigned to work for a Narcotics Task Force. In 2001, I returned to Limestone County as Captain over Law Enforcement. During that time I was assigned to the United States Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task force. In 2015, I was promoted to Chief Deputy where I remained until I was elected as Sheriff.

I obtained a degree in Criminal Justice at Navarro College while working for the Sheriff’s Office and received my Master Peace Officers License in 2010. I have been active throughout the county and have been on numerous boards and committees.
