My name is Dennis D. Wilson and I am the Sheriff of Limestone County.  I am a lifelong resident of Limestone County and I reside in Groesbeck.  I graduated Groesbeck High School in 1973 and continued my education at Cisco Junior College in 1974 and Navarro Junior College in 1975.  I graduated from the Heart of Texas Council of Government Police Academy in 1976.  I began my law enforcement career in 1975 as a deputy sheriff at the Limestone County Sheriff's Office.  I remained at the sheriff's office and attained the rank of Captain in the Criminal Investigations Division until November 1999.  I then worked as a District Attorney Investigator from November 1999 until December 2000.  I was elected to the position of Sheriff and have held that position since January 1, 2001.  I hold a Master Peace Officer license under the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.  I also recieved the Bert Ford Commendation from the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission in 2005.
